Jacket Class - Day 1

Master teacher, Priscilla, is showing a secret process to her students as she demonstrates seminole piecing strip construction. I could tell you what it is, but then I would have to kill you.....

Nancy Hicks ponders her decision as she considers options for her quilter's vest. The wonderful back panel with the Southeast Asian figures, adding design and dimension elements, highlights the parchment-like background.

Caren Betlinski's panel for the back of her jack takes shape. The choice of complimentary color shades perfectly frames and draws attention to the beautiful flower that she created with thread painting.

Large pieces of possible fabric choices are used in the first steps of jacket building. The design walls and wall-wash lighting help in this initial decision making by Linda Bachman. This early stage takes time, patience, and a practiced eye as the final product may undergo many revisions before cutting and sewing begins.
