Snow Day

Mother Nature decided that the masons should have a long weekend and dumped a few inches of snow and rain overnight. This is somewhat unusual for this late in April, but not unprecedented.

We met with Brian Mosch at New Energy today to go over the shop drawings for the timber frame. A couple of minor changes were suggested and agreed to. Eric, from the Timber Framing Division, and Bill are standing along side some of the timbers for our project, which have been partially prepared in the milling process.

These are some of our reclaimed douglas fir timbers, ready to be shipped next door for joinery work. We were thrilled with the quality of the wood, especially the wonderful patina and prominent grain evident in the picture.

Plans are still in line to begin raising the timber frame by the middle of next week. Let's hope the weather cooperates!
