Quilt for Women Helping Girls

I decided to make a quilt for the auction fundraiser that the

Women Helping Girls organization is having.

And since my niece has been asking about how quilt designs come about, I've posted a picture of some of my first ideas.

After auditioning a few other options, this is the layout for the final design.

And the top is sewn together -- ready for quilting.

This is the first orchid bloom of the season, and the plants have produced several buds already -- a wonderful sign of spring.
