Winter Arrives

The first measurable snow of the year arrives.  It was only a couple of inches, but was the very high in moisture content and nicely clung to every surface.  This view is looking East from the studio.

The old pine tree struggles to survive year after year.  It was damaged by some hungry goats we harbored a long time ago (early 1970's), and has never prospered.  The pole-supported bird house was erected for purple martens, but mostly shelters sparrows who have taken over.

Inspector Suki joins in the white mantle covering as she peers out from under her hiding place.

As you can see, it is not snow, but tissue paper that  succomed to her search of a recently returned quilt show package that traveled around the USA last year with two of Marcia's IQA juried quilts.

Suki avoids snow and cold weather whenever possible.
